With music running through her veins, Elle was singing as soon as she could speak, playing the flute at 6 and the piano at 9. But it wasn’t until her attendance at AGC (Amazing Grace Conservatory) that her ear for harmony, melody and complex rhythm truly developed.

Currently, Elle Varner is signed to MBK/J Records, a team that recognizes her many talents; from her unique voice complimented by her guitar strum to her potential of becoming one of music’s greatest songwriters. A little girl whose deepest comfort was once found in the vibration of the human voice will soon be comforting this world with her highly anticipated debut album.

MBK Ent. artists Elle Varner, and Allen Stone debut new music at ASCAP Sundance Music Café

New York, NY, January 31, 2011: MBK Entertainment has struck big at their first Sundance Festival with critics choice movie Pariah, which was recently acquired for worldwide distribution by Focus Features Films. Directed by newcomer Dee Rees, the film is executive produced by MBK Ent. CEO Jeff Robinson, Spike Lee and producer Nekisa Cooper. Representing MBK Ent.’s first foray into film, the company is a multimedia talent and strategic marketing company whose clients have won multiple Grammy Awards amongst others.

“Pariah started with a dream and a story; MBK and I are excited it will finally have the chance to inspire others to seize their dreams now” comments CEO of MBK & executive producer Jeff Robinson. Pariah, is a coming-of-age story about a 17-year old African American teen from Brooklyn trying to find her place in the world and coming to terms with her sexual identity.  The film has been hailed by every major movie outlet including NY Times, L.A Times andHollywood Reporter, which remarked “Even when its heroine finally manages to put her desires into words, Pariah benefits from ambiguity.”

The film also features music by J Records/MBK Ent. much buzzed artist Elle Varner who performed alongside MBK artists and Allen Stone at the ASCAP Sundance Music Café last week. Jeff further comments, “ Like Pariah, everything starts with a dream. Congrats to Elle Varner, Allen Stone and the whole MBK Entertainment family who did an amazing job a Sundance. I am super excited to help them seize theirs as well”.
